ICD Neuropathy

Could a 356.9 be applied to dx "bilateral distal sensory neuropathy"? There really isn't anything in the body or dx which provides clarification as to the cause?

Code 356.9 is for unlisted neuropathy. Unlisted code is appropriate if no specific code is available. There is no specific code for bilateral distal sensory neuropathy. Code 356.2 is for hereditary sensory neuropathy, so I would prefer to go unlisted code i.e.356.9
