What is the diagnosis code for CRPS of the Chest Wall?

SuperCoder Answered Thu 11th of June, 2015 02:05:10 AM

CRPS is a chronic pain condition most often affecting one of the limbs (arms, legs, hands, or feet), usually after an injury or trauma to that limb. Complex regional pain syndrome is believed to be caused by damage to, or malfunction of, the peripheral and central nervous systems. So, when it is clearly mentioned CRPS of chest wall, ICD-9 CM 786.52 is most appropriate code.
