ICD-9 2012- Dx code 294.20

Suhel Posted Thu 13th of October, 2011 22:14:07 PM

My clearing house is rejecting a claim because i used a new Dx code (294.20) from ICD-9 2012 version. I thought this book went into effect starting Oct 1st, 2011. Thanks in advance

To use 294.20 for a report, the DOS should be after Oct.1st, 2011 also.

The DOS is 10/5/2011. The clearing house said that the code is not on the AMA Dx codes list yet and that's why its being kicked back.

Can I use this Dx code?
