Hi Apurva,

We can combine DM with chronic kidney disease (CKD). However, we cannot combine E11.21 (Type 2 diabetes mellitus with diabetic nephropathy) with N18.3

For example:

With Type 2 DM with diabetic chronic kidney disease (E11.22) use additional code to identify stage of chronic kidney disease (N18.1-N18.6).

With Diabetes mellitus due to underlying condition with diabetic chronic kidney disease (E08.22) use additional code to identify stage of chronic kidney disease (N18.1-N18.6).

With Drug or chemical induced diabetes mellitus with diabetic chronic kidney disease (E09.22) use additional code to identify stage of chronic kidney disease (N18.1-N18.6).

With Type 1 diabetes mellitus with diabetic chronic kidney disease (E10.22) use additional code to identify stage of chronic kidney disease (N18.1-N18.6).
