ICD-10 for Mass

Blackhorse Posted Thu 24th of October, 2019 12:36:55 PM
Pt. has a small mass over the radial aspect of the long finger middle segment. This mass looks like greenish in nature. Pt. has no pain but it gets bigger and smaller with activity. Our doctor says it's vascular nature and codes it as D21.12. What about R22.31? What's the difference between those 2 diagnosis codes?

Hello Blackhorse,

Thank you for your question.

As per the above presented documentation, appropriate code will be R22.31 (Localized swelling, mass and lump, right upper limb).

Since Biopsy has not been performed, benign neoplasm diagnosis cannot be established.

Hope that helps!
