In Final Diagnosis of a surgical pathology report it is mentioned as - Benign prostate tissue can we consider Billing the N42.9 series for benign prostate tissue.

Hi Apurva,

Thankyou for your question.

As per the documentation above the correct ICD-10 code will be N42.89- Other specified disorders of prostate. Also, the provider specifies the condition as benign, so we will not go for unspecified code.

However, if we come across words like hyperplacia, hypertrophy, or enlarged we will take code from N40 series. Feel free to ask for any further query.
