ICD 10

Physician performed a stellate ganglion block and diagnosis is sympathetic facial pain. What would be the ICD10 code?

Appropriate codes would be:
64510 Injection, anesthetic agent; stellate ganglion (cervical sympathetic)
G51.8 Other disorders of facial nerve

Other disorders of facial nerve is used as there is no specific code for sympathetic facial pain and a stellate ganglion block is an injection of local anesthetic in the sympathetic nerve tissue of the neck. These nerves are a part of the sympathetic nervous system. The nerves are located on either side of the voice box, in the neck.
