I & D Abscess

Lori Posted Mon 16th of April, 2012 19:47:05 PM

We would like to know if we as pediatricians can we bill the I & D abscess codes 10060 and 26010 to the insurance companies? Could we bill a same day office visit code with the abscess diagnosis code or does it need a separate diagnosis code?

You will need a separate diagnosis code with the office visit code by appending modifier 25.

Thank you for getting back to us.. Could we can bill the I & D codes 10060 and 26010 even if we are pediatric primary care physicians?

Yes, you can bill these minor surgical procedures.
