House call w/ Debridement coding

Bridget Posted Wed 25th of May, 2011 12:38:26 PM

I have a woman who is post surgical (removal of hip prosthesis, 27091) in January. My doc went over last week and did a home visit 99349 and a debridement of her wound on the hip...wound vac. How would I code the debridement, or can I? Thanks!!

For debridement of postop wound, I would go for 10180. Even though this code slightly deviates away from normal range of codes for debridement, some details lacking on term "wound vac" here. So, 10180 would be best fit.
