Hospice code

Linda Posted Mon 24th of October, 2011 20:36:49 PM

If the doctor sees a new patient in hospice, he would bill an initial (new) visit. If the patient graduates OFF hospice, is the next encounter with the patient a new visit as they are now off hospice?

If patient is discharged from hospice care and revisited as new ptient, the proper E/M code would be considered.
