When you use code 65222 with a Office Visit 99204 will you receive reimbursement for Office Visits and also 65222. Is that code consider a surgery code

Hi Shelly,

Cpt code 65222 is described as a minor procedure by Medicare. Office visit or consultation can be billed for an exam on the same day as a minor procedure when the patient's condition requires an additional service beyond the usual care provided as part of a procedure by using modifier 25.

When submitting a claim for an E/M service on the same day as the foreign body removal, you should use the modifier -25 on the office visit code so that you'll be paid for both services.
