Global Fee 26/TC

Tanya Posted Wed 19th of October, 2011 20:24:31 PM

We have a new Cardiologist who wants our Pulmonologist to interprete his chest xrays.

If the ordering and interpretating doctors are at the same place of service, in the same clinic, can they bill separately for the two fees: 71020-26; 71020-TC? Or is it billed under the interpretating physician as the global code 71020?

Thanks!!

The provider who interpreted the report can only bill for the professional part (mod 26) and if the equipment also is owned by him then he can bill with global and requires no modifier.
