G8553 diagnosis billing

Karen Posted Mon 28th of October, 2013 09:33:47 AM

When billing for G8553, how do you determine what diagnosis is used with this code? I have never really worked with these.

When coding G8553: "At least one prescription created during the encounter was generated and transmitted electronically using a qualified eRX system" no diagnosis code is necessary. This procedure code is not payable. It is for reporting/information purposes only.
