Hi I need help on PQRS codes
for influenza immunization administered or previously received,
so I was thinking G8482, but not sure if I pick exact visit day for flu shot or it can be any day? And also should I submit the office visit or not?

SuperCoder Answered Wed 11th of December, 2013 18:03:26 PM

It must be the exact day of the flu shot. Yes, G8482. Only submit an office visit if a separately identifiable service was provided. If patient came in just for the flu shot, don't submit office visit.

Thank you,
so if there was a visit it will look like this:
786.05 99213 $0.00
V04.81 G8482 $0.00

Yes, that's correct. Don't you also want to code the CPT codes for Vaccine administration?

Lina Posted Fri 13th of December, 2013 11:47:30 AM

yes, but I didn't know I can do that , too. And what is the correct CPT code for vaccine administration?

SuperCoder Answered Mon 16th of December, 2013 19:56:01 PM

CPT codes '90471' and '90472'. Immunization administration codes.
