Fusion for Kyphotic Deformity

Maria Posted Thu 30th of May, 2013 21:56:24 PM

My surgeon did a Removal of T1 spinous process, and intraoperative reduction of cervical thoracic kyphotic deformity with extension of previous fusion C67 and now fusing C6-T3(previously had posterior decompression and anterior fusion). He did a posterolateral fusion from C6-T3 with a hemilaminectomy T12,T23 for visualization of epidural space and exision of ligamentum flavum. Would it be more appropriate to bill the arthrodesis as 22800 or 22600, 22614x3 and would it be appropriate to bill the 63003 for the thoracic hemilaminectomies?

Better described with the 22600 option with the 63003-51 for the hemilaminectomies.
