Kimberly Posted Wed 27th of March, 2019 06:30:08 AM
Is a fourth ventricle tumor a midline tumor at skull base 61521 or is it a craniectomy for excision of brain tumor infratentorial EXCEPT meningioma, CPA or "midline tumor at base of skull" 61518? So basically is a fourth ventricle tumor a midline tumor at base of skull.

Hi,

As per the ICD-CM coding guidelines, fourth ventricle tumor is considered as neoplasm of brain stem. Please provide some more details of  the procedure for appropriate CPT code.

Thanks
