FOREIGN BODY REMOVAL

Shade Posted Mon 27th of October, 2014 09:59:00 AM

WHAT CPT CODE CAN I USE FOR FOREIGN BODY REMOVAL FROM VAGINAL CANAL. PT. CAME IN WITH TAMPON IN THE VAGINAL.

SuperCoder Answered Mon 27th of October, 2014 10:17:46 AM

If the physician used anesthesia other than local to remove the foreign body you may use code 57415. If no anesthesia was used you would assign the appropriate E/M code.

Hope this helps

if a forceps is used to remove the foreign body from vaginal canal can the cpt code 57415 be used.

Yes as long as anesthesia (not local) was used for the procedure you may bill the 57415.

Hope this helps.
