Follow ups for incomplete colons

Donya Posted Fri 14th of January, 2011 16:15:43 PM

If the patient has a incomplete due to poor prep or obstruction and the Dr has the pt to follow-up in the office to see NP to go over this and discuss there options as to what needs to be done. Is this billable? or should the office scheduler just set up another procedure and go over the prep again?
If the documentation is supporting the visit wouldn't this be appropriate to do.

No. The consultation for further taking care for and scheduling should be considered part of the surgical procedure, so not billable
