FEARED CONDITION NOT FOUND/WORRIED WELL

Renee Posted Fri 18th of September, 2015 16:16:16 PM

CAN YOU HELP WITH DIAGNOSIS CODING - I HAVE A PEDIATRIC ORTHO WHO SEES KIDDOS IN REFERRAL FOR A SCOLOSIS WORKUP AND MAY DETERMINE THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE SCOLOSIS. IS THE ICD-10 CODE Z71.1 "FEARED CONDITION NOT FOUND" APPROPRIATE FOR THIS SCENARIO? WILL THIS CODE STAND ALONE AS A PRINCIPAL DIAGNOSIS WHEN THERE WAS NO OTHER REASON FOR THE VISIT AND NO OTHER DX WAS MADE?
THANK YOU

Well, thanks for your question.

ICD-Z03.89 appears to be appropriate code for this scenario.
