FB removal on tip of the Iris

Simone Posted Tue 21st of September, 2010 16:04:17 PM

Does anyone know how to code a simple FB removal on the tip of the Iris? Would that be coded as 65205?

If the physician has removed the FB through a corneal and scleral incision then in that case go with 65235 (because iris is present behind the anterior chamber) but if the physician has removed the FB with a needle or something without any short of incisions, then you need to report this with an E/M code.
