Face to face encounter

We have a provider who met with the family of a hospitalized patient to discuss treatment options, placement in skilled nursing facility, etc. This took place in the provider's office, not at the bedside of the patient, so the patient was not present. Is this a billable visit and if so, what code would we use?

Since, the patient is hospitalized, no separate E/M service in the physician's office can be billed for the patient during the span of stay in the inpatient status.
