Extended Node Dissection

David Posted Wed 10th of February, 2016 12:09:18 PM

My physician performed a 51595 with a modifier 22 due to adhesions from previous surgeries. My physicians wants to be able to bill for extended node dissection during the surgery as well and feels this should be separately reimbursable. What else could I bill to do this for him?

As the CPT code 51595 includes the bilateral pelvic lymphadenectomy, so you cannot bill for it separately. Yes, you can bill this case with modifier -22.
