Patient has an exostosis on the anterior of patella which causes skin breakdown when traumatized. I find CPT for 27355 and 27360 for excision of bone for femur, tibia or fibula but not patella. Also, considered debridement of bone 11044, but seems to be more due the size causing trauma to skin. Do you have a suggestion other than unlisted 27599? Also, would ICD10 be M89.9?

There is no specific code for exostosis removal of patella. If doctor removed portion of the patella bone you can report 27350. If not than you need to report 27599. icd -10 code M89.89X8 is more appropriate to use than M89.9.

Hope that helps!
