Exostosis removal

Kathy Posted Tue 20th of March, 2012 13:50:54 PM

Please advise if you know if there is a procedure code for removal of bone exostosis(hard expanding mass)on patient's right mid-forehead to be done under general anesthesia on an ambulatory surgery basis. I cannot find anything that seems appropriate and hope you can help. Thank you!

21026 is the best suited code for exostosis removal of forehead.

I did look at that code but was unsure as the coders' desk reference indicates "removal of dead or infected bone". Would this still be appropriate? Thank you!

This is the nearest code. I myself would prefer that only rather going for an unlisted.
