Excision of soft tissue osseous septum, wrist

Karen Posted Sun 05th of March, 2017 19:01:08 PM
My hand surgeons do this procedure on a regular basis: excision of intracompartment osseous septum separating the abductor pollicis longus and extensor pollicus brevis tendons within the 1st dorsal compartment. It is found often when they are treating the DeQuervain tenosynovitis. I'm not sure how to capture the ICD-10 and CPT codes for this. I'm thinking that the ICD-10 code might be Q68.1 or M67.833.

Greetings from!

You cannot report code Q68.1 because this series is for congenital diseases. You may use other code i.e. M67.833 and since there is no specific CPT code for excision of osseous septum between abductor pollicis longus and extensor pollicus brevis tendons, you should report unlisted code i.e. 25999.
