excision of lesions

please clarified for me if i can code for the excision of lesion without the pathology result. i was in the impression that since the provider excised the lesion , we can code for the work done. please help for better understanding.

Thanks for your question. You should wait for the pathology report prior to coding excision of lesions. If you don't have access to pathology reports you can use the documentation from your provider to determine the proper coding. See the attached link for additional information. Hope this helps.
