excision of endometrioma near csec incision

Lynn Posted Mon 01st of February, 2016 12:39:05 PM

Excision of subcutaneous endometrioma via minilaparotomy
a 2.5-centimeter horizontal incision was made in the skin just above the palpable subcutaneous nodule. Blunt and sharp dissection was undertaken to further delineate the nodule. The subcutaneous tissue and fascial layer were elevated using Allis clamps. This allowed further dissection of the nodule and it was excised completely using sharp dissection with a scalpel.
Subcutaneous nodule and surrounding subcutaneous fat to Pathology.....Not sure what CPT to use for this

Codes 22902 or 22903 will be coded depending upon the size and extent of excision.
