Essure discontiuned

Tammy Posted Thu 10th of March, 2016 17:05:29 PM

Essure procedure was not completed because the coils would not go in due to fallopian tube spasms. How would I bill for this? I tried the 58563-53 with DX N83.8 would this be correct.

CPT code for essure procedure is 58565. You can report modifier 53 which is used when a service is terminated due to circumstances beyond the physician or health care provider's control. This may include conditions that threaten the patient's health.
