endoscopic middle meatus antrostomy

Bill Posted Mon 06th of January, 2014 12:31:07 PM

I code for an ASC and my surgeon did a right middle meatus antrostomy and resection of concha bullosa. He states "Polypoid tissue was removed from the middle meatus area on the right side. An uncinectomy was performed in the usual fashion. Inflammatory tissue was removed from within and around the sinus cavity opening. A sickle knife was used to bivalve the middle tubinate and the medial portion was removed with the concha bullosa." I'm not sure what code to use for the antrostomy. I was going to use "31240" for resection of concha bullosa. I don't think "31256" is correct for the antrostomy because is wasn't maxillary. Can you please advise?

thank you

31240 would be the correct code for the description provided.
