Emergency Visit

Annette Posted Mon 14th of March, 2011 18:25:10 PM

Patient came in as an emergency - no appointment - with a torn rotator cuff. What office code or modifier can I add to the office visit to allow to charge more for the emergency?

A patient presents to the physician's office and requires unscheduled emergency care (eg, new onset dyspnea and cyanosis). CPT code 99058 is reported in addition to the basic service.

So, I think you can code for Rotator cuff and additionally, you can bill 99058.
