E/M question

SuperCoder Posted Tue 27th of September, 2011 17:33:31 PM

When the doctor sees a patient for the following diagnosis:
'133.0', '692.0', '698.9', '686.00'

What CPT code should he use?
'99212' or '99213'

Just on the basis of multiple diagnosis, you can't decide 99213 or 99212. You have to look at all other aspects of documentation like the treatment or care provided, other elements of Exam and MDM would play a major role in deciding the E/M.
