We have a confusion in the office. We have been billing J9217 for Lupron 45mg injections and are now moving to Eligard mg. When I do a search in Supercoder for Eligard, the HCPCS I get is J9218; however the pharmacy rep is disputing stating that is the incorrect code, and we must continue to bill the same J9217 HCPCS code. Please advise as this may potentially affect reimbursement. Thank you.

Hi,

The correct code for the above mentioned scenario is J9217x6. Due to some technical reasons the code search by the eligard is not showing all the codes falling under this category. Please bill 6 units of J9217 for the above scenario.

Hope this helps!
