What is the appropriate ICD-9-CM diagnosis code for a patient who uses electronic cegeretes? Unknown if nicotine substance or not.

Thanks for your question. There is no specific diagnosis for electronic cigarette use. See the 305.1;Nondependent tobacco use disorder. Tobacco dependence. Includes cases where a person, for whom no other diagnosis is possible, has come under medical care because of the maladaptive effect of a drug on which he is not dependent and that he has taken on his own initiative to the detriment of his health or social functioning.
