What is the CPT code for an EGD with Naso-gastric tube placement for decompression? (not PEG placement and not with fluoroscopy guidance)

Hello – Compare your documentation to ‘43241’ (Upper gastrointestinal endoscopy including esophagus, stomach, and either the duodenum and/or jejunum as appropriate; with transendoscopic intraluminal tube or catheter placement).

Here’s a specialty society resource addressing a similar question:

Question:
We were wondering if there is a code for an EGD w/Dobhoff Placement
and if so, is it billed in conjunction with another EGD code?
Answer:
The Dobhoff tube is inserted through nasal approach so it is considered
a NG or NJ tube since its major design is intended for placement beyond
the gastric outlet/pylorus in order to prevent aspiration. Placement with
EGD would be billed as 43241 (EGD with tube placement).
