What is the dx's code for rib protrusion?

thank you,

If the protrusion is result of a fracture of rib, then you can code the fracture of rib. But if the protrusion is the result of any acquired deformity, code 738.3. If the patient is child and if the condition is congenital, code would be 756.3. There is another code, 733.99, but avoid this one if any other code mentioned earlier works fine as 733.99 is an "other specified" code that has more chance of getting denied by payers when more specific code is available.
