Drug Induced Sleep Endoscopy

Norelie Posted Thu 04th of December, 2014 17:25:42 PM

Is there currently a code for a drug induced sleep endoscopy? I might end up using an unlisted cpt 31299 but I just don't know how much to charge.

Drug induced sleep endoscopy is an evaluation of the upper airway after pharmacologic induction of unconscious sedation.

You should better use code 31575, Laryngoscopy, flexible fiberoptic; diagnostic with modifier 22, increased procedural service.

Modifier 22 is required to represent the additional component of pharmacologic induction of unconscious sedation.

Thanks !!
