Distal Radius, Ulnar Styloid Fracture

L Posted Sat 05th of September, 2015 18:39:35 PM

How would I code the following:
DIAGNOSIS: Fracture bilateral distal radius and ulnar styloids.
PROCEDURE:
1.Closed reduction and percutaneous pinning of the right wrist.
2.Open reduction internal fixation of the distal radius, radiocarpal, and radioulnar joints with closed treatment of the ulnar styloid on each wrist.
Thanks!

Well, considering ORIF is done on left side- for ORIF distal radius fractures CPT 25609 and 25605 with modifier 59 is appropriate to bill. CPT 25605-RT for close treatment on contra-lateral side. Use ICD-9 CM 813.44. Hope it helps!
