Dista-radial intra-articular ORIF/tenotomy of brachioradialis tendon 25608/25290

Camille Posted Mon 18th of November, 2019 13:20:43 PM
Even though there isn't a CCI bundling edit between 25608 and 25290, is a Brachioradialis tenotomy considered bundled into the ORIF procedure? Thank you very much!

Hi,

Thanks for the question.

Yes. Release of the brachioradialis tendon is part of the reduction and work involved in code 25608, and is not separately reported.

Note: Sometimes, due to an injury or fracture brachioradialis muscle get pulled, which causes difficulty in fracture reduction. Therefore, a brachioradialis tenotomy is performed to facilitate the fracture reduction.
