Disimpaction of Rectum

Alan Posted Thu 14th of June, 2012 19:16:51 PM

A physician is doing a manual disimpaction of the rectum under anesthesia. What CPT code can I use for this?

45915.Under the relaxation of anesthesia, the physician removes fecal impaction manually by inserting a gloved, lubricated index finger and massaging around the edges of the impaction, gradually working the gloved finger into the mass to break it up or with the help of an instrument from the rectum.
