Director of Anesthesiologist

Darshna Posted Mon 05th of May, 2014 12:07:02 PM

Can we bill services rendered by any Anesthesiologist under a practice and bill under the Director's name with a Modifier. If so, what would be the modifier and is this possible to bill under the Director of the practice???

According to my CE:

"My off-the-cuff thinking is that I wonder why the anesthesiologist might be billing under a different director's name/number instead of his own. Providers normally bill as themselves unless some special situation is in place, like a locum tenens arrangement for a certain period of time."

Please provide more details regarding why you're considering billing this way -- it might help us give a more complete answer.
