How would you code uncontrolled diabetes with diabetic foot uler. Has history of diabetic peripheral autonomic neuropathy? Thank you

Diabetic (uncontrolled) foot ulcer -- 250.8x, 707.15.

DM type will decide the "x" (type II / unspecified - 2 ; type I - 3). Uncontrolled DM (250.02 / 250.03) is not required to be reported separately.

Coding of Hx of diabetic peripheral autonomic neuropathy will depend on its current effect or presence on pt. If its still present and is the underlying cause for the DM-Ulcer, then you need to code this one also as -- 250.62 / 250.63, 357.2
