Delayed Primary Closure

L Posted Wed 04th of March, 2015 00:13:21 AM

How would I code the following:
DIAGNOSIS: Abscess, dorsal right middle finger at MCP level with early septic arthritis.

PROCEDURE: Delayed primary closure of right middle finger dorsal wound (1.5 cm).

Details: The patient had a laceration that became infected with a subcutaneous abscess type formation and early septic arthritis. This was treated with an incision and drainage, packed open, with leaving the portion of the wound open.

Thanks!

Hi Lindsay,
Thank you for the query.
The correct CPT code for this procedure is 10060.
