Decadron units

Mike Posted Wed 23rd of December, 2015 20:17:50 PM

Looking at this dictation and I am billing the units for Decadron. Looks like I would bill J1100 for 10 units. Am I correct?

" a total of 1 mL of injectate inclusive of 0.5% Marcaine mixed in 10 mg/mL Decadron was given. In total, 7 mL of 0.5% Marcaine and 8 mg of Decadron were administered."

Thanks for the Query

As per the scenario drug administered was 8 mg but the Dose given was 10 mg/ML hence 10 Units is appropriate to code for CPT J1100.
