Debridement Tricuspid Valve Vegetation

Phyllis Posted Tue 10th of June, 2014 16:39:11 PM

I need help in coding the following: Under direct ultrasound guidance, the right internal jugular vain was accessed with a micropuncture set and a 26 French sheath was placed. The right femoral vein was accessed and an 18 French sheath placed. A balloon catheter was floated into the left pulmonary artery and exchanged for an Amplatz wire. An angioplasty suction catheter was introduced into the right atrium and suction thrombectomy was performed. Next the right external jugular vein was accessed and a 10 French sheath was placed. A 6 French guiding catheter was advanced through the 10 French sheath and into the right ventricle. A trilobed snare catheter was advanced through the guiding catheter and manual debridement of the valve was performed.

An unlisted procedure code is suitable for a transcatheter valve debridement.
