would the 40820 cpt code be correct or maybe an unlisted?
the patient had blood clot sticking to her lips so the physician removed the blood clot and used some silver nitrate cautery stick to gain control and hemostasis of the amount of bloody ooze and then dressed with gauze.

Yes i agree with your findings. Its better than an unlisted. He is treating the wound from which the clot arised so this code is correct.
