D2 Lymphadenectomy

Nicole Posted Wed 27th of April, 2016 15:36:48 PM
My Provider is doing a partial gastrectomy with reconstruction of roux en y, at the same time he is also dissecting the d2 lymph nodes. Is the d2 lymphadenectomy included with the work done in the 43633 or is there a separately billable code for the lymphadenectomy? Thank You,

Yes, you can bill a separate code for lymphadenectomy. Use CPT code 38747 for lymph node removal along with gastric removal procedure CPT code.
