The doctor preformed the following: 1. Cystoscopy 2. Bilateral stent removal 3. Bilateral retrograde pyelogram 4. Replacement of right ureteral stent Which code do I use for these services and why?
SuperCoder Posted 1 Year(s) ago

The appropriate code for the above performed procedures is 52332 with 50 modifier.

Retrograde pyelogram can be coded using 74420.

Separate reimbursement is not allowed for a stent removal performed on the same day under any circumstance. Also, modifier cannot be used with these codes.

Hope this helps!

Further query is welcome.
