K Posted Tue 02nd of June, 2015 13:22:59 PM

What is the correct anesthesia coding guidelines on a CRNA that supplies MAC with Medication during a procedure performed by another provider? Use 99143-99145 or the codes from 00100 to 01999? Thank you

Well, moderate conscious sedation code series 99143-99150 should only be used when sedation is provided by the physician who is performing the procedure. When an anesthesiologist or anesthetist provides the service, a code from series 00100-01999 should use.
