For CPT 81265 AND 81266 can we bill to male patients since as per AAPC it is a female code and the gender is not specified it CPT book. Kindly clarify

CPT codes 81265 & 81266 are not gender-specific codes. These codes can be used for both male and female patients. Kindly choose these codes as per patient's condition for which these tests were recommended and the documentation documented by the provider e.g. pre-transplant recipient and donor germline testing, post-transplant non-hematopoietic recipient germline [eg, buccal swab or other germline tissue sample] and donor testing, twin zygosity testing, or maternal cell contamination of fetal cells.

Note: Report 81265 for the first specimen and 81266 for each additional specimen.
