Hello, my doctor is looking into buying a c-arm machine. I was wondering I know that there is a global period for the facet (64493) of 90 days, and a global period for the destruction by neurolytic(64633) agent is 6 months between treatment. So my question is this: If my doctor gives a facet injection with the c-arm and the injection does not work can we turn around and give them a steroid injection or another injection that my doctor thinks would work?

CPT codes '64493' and '64633' pass the CCI edits. And the CPT coding guidelines do not mention that these cannot be coded on the same day. It looks like you are able to do this. Of course, it's always good policy to check with the payer as well to make sure they will pay for both on the same day.
